Located in Himeji's northeast side, Nozato is proud of its mercantile tradition.
Because it was not destroyed by air bombing in WW2, it still retains a townscape featuring many pre-war and Edo period homes.
But it's not all old.
Nozato is becoming an area filled with many modern shops as well as a place to enjoy the retro-feel.

In the shopping district around Keiunji Temple, starting in the evening, there's performance and plenty of delicious food stands to enjoy.
